Beautiful elven female with dark hair and eyes. Born and raised in Athens, Greece
Deianeira Azgard is the youngest of two elf children born to Phaedra and Markos Azgard in the grand city of Athens, Greece. She has one older sibling named Nickolai. We didn’t get to have our parents in our life very long. It was the first day of school, Deianeira was starting kindergarten, she was so excited to be like her big brother Nick who was going into fifth grade. She woke up in the morning long before she was due to be up. She got out her band new clothes that she and her mother went shopping for the week before. She went downstairs determined that she was a big girl now and poured her own bowl of cereal. Only half of the box ended up all over the table the other half made it mostly into the bowl with the remains of it on the floor. She poured the milk and again most of it made it into the bowl. Then she got out a spoon and sat down to eat. As she was at the table eating her breakfast Nick padded into the room all sleepy and disheveled in his pajamas still.
“What the hell Dei? Why is there cereal all over the place? Did you even leave any for me?”
“Of course you have your own box up there remember this was mine. It will be fine. I am big enough to make my own breakfast.”
“No you aren’t Dei. Why didn’t you wait for me I would have made it for you.”
“I sure can. Look.” Pouting she picked up her spoon and shoved a bit into her mouth. “Look I am eating the breakfast I made all by myself.”
“Yeah well you are going to clean up the mess you made all by yourself too. It good that we are here there is something I want to tell you about when we are at school.”
“Oh what’s that?” Deianeira looks up creasing her brows at the serious tone in his voice, yet the response was muffled as her mouth was full of honey nut cheerios.
“I will walk with you to school. I will look out for you. Sometimes you get bullies and idiots that want to make life hard for you but I have learned how to deal with them. I want you to know that I will always be right there looking out for you. You can tell me anything. I won’t ever let anything bad happen to you Dei.”
Deianeira smiled at her brother awestruck. “I love you Nickolai.”
He just smiled and ruffled her hair teasingly. He was never the type that could say those words. She hated that about him, but she knew he loved her none the less. “I have to go get dressed now. You need to clean this up before mom or dad wakes up.”
Both her parents were very proud of her and excited to share in her first day with her. Phaedra and Markos got dressed and walked to the school with the kids. Nickolai was not as happy about this as Deianeira was. He got his parents to agree to turn back when they reached the corner about a block before school and let them walk the rest of the way themselves.
“You be sure to look after your sister.” Markos said to Nick.
“No problem dad I got this. I won’t let anything happen to her I promise you.” Nick said as he walked off taking Deianeira by the hand and leading her. They were about halfway between the school and their parents when Dei turned around to wave again to her parents that she knew would still be standing there. They were standing there but they were not alone. She saw two Orcs standing one on each side of them holding guns to their heads and started shoving them towards a van parked on the other side of the street. “No!” Deianeira yelled as she began to cry. “Mommy, Daddy!”
Nick turned to see what his sister was looking but as he turned the Orcs were loading their parents into this van. He looked from them to his sister and knew he was too late to do anything for his parents. “Run!” he grabbed his sister’s hand as he noticed the van coming their way. She scrambled behind him, but realizing she was only slowing them down he bent down. “Come on Dei piggyback jump on my back.” She did and he ran carrying her on his back.
They went right to the school’s office to make the report and the school called the police. An hour later their grandmother Zenobia came to pick them up. She drove them to their house where they quickly grabbed some stuff before going to her house.
That night at their grandmother’s house, Deianeira sat staring off into nothingness. Nick came and sat by her and pulled her into his arms where she cried some more. “I am the man of the house now Dei.” He said choked, his voice full of emotion yet he allowed no tears to fall. He was thinking back to the morning. The last thing he promised his dad as they walked away was that he would always keep Dei safe and that was just what he was going to do.
Their parents were never found and Nickolai stayed true to his word, which became more challenging as she got older and that big brother envy started to disappear.
As she got older she got really big into the worship of Aphrodite. Using the religion to fill a void in her that her parent’s disappearance had left. However the beliefs of Aphrodite didn’t always factor in to how Nickolai thought a young lady should act. As his sister’s got older her beauty and figure blossomed. This worried him. Why couldn’t he get settled down with a sister who was ugly. By the time she had got into high school Nick was starting college and was working part time to help take care of the family. It seemed everyday when he got home he had to chase away another of Deianeira’s male admirer’s. Until one day when he got home she was actually kissing one of her girlfriends. He had never been so mad in all his life. What would this girl think of next? It was as if she intentionally fought against him. Always the same response from her “But I love him, Nick leave him alone” or “I love her.”
Love did she even know what that word meant. He never said it yet he knew that it was when you loved someone to the point that it hurt, when all you wanted for them was to keep them safe from all the ugliness that happened in the world. He would never be able to live with himself if she was ever taken by Orcs like their parents were. It would kill him to lose his sister to anyone, even one of those others that she claimed to love so much.
What did Nick know? Deianeira thought. He couldn’t even bring himself to say the words I love you to anyone. Thinking himself too manly for that. He never cried and rarely showed emotion and unless you knew him the way she did you would think him to be lost of all emotion. She knew better she knew that he feared for her and that day when their parents had taken its toll on him, but hell it took its toll on her too. He never let her have any fun. If he could she wouldn’t put it past him to lock her in a cage and keep her there. She loved her brother, but she was her own person. She couldn’t seem to make him see that. So she would sneak out at night and go to parties, she stayed out past her curfew, fell in love countless times and lost her virginity to an elven boy named Alastaire in the back of the limo on the way to prom. She didn’t know why but the one thing she had always been taught was to only mate with her own race, never mate with humans or any other humanoids. She didn’t understand why but she wasn’t as drawn to the other races anyway so she did what she was told there. She got a job in the library when she turned 18. She didn’t spend her money the way other girls did, she saved every penny. Determined to move the minute she turned 18 and graduated.
That was just what she did. She was so excited to finally be on her own. Nick tried time and again to put his foot down saying she couldn’t just leave and go to America. Their family and all of her ancestors had always been right here. Not one of them had ever left the country. Deianeira would be the first to go. She couldn’t wait to start her new life. Nick and her grandmother drove her to the airport. Nick had finally stopped fighting her to stay, but didn’t say a word in the car all the way to the airport. She felt so bad. She loved her brother she just wanted a life of her own. She knew if she stayed close he would still have his nose in her business.
He kissed her goodbye and watched her board the plane. He smiled to his grandmother.
The flight was long, to save money she took a plane that had quite a few layovers. It would be worth it though she felt so free. There was another handsome elf sitting in the first class area she saw as got up to stretch her legs a moment. He looked back feeling her gaze and for an instant their eyes locked. It was so romantic she thought to herself as she made her way back to her seat. When she looked up toward the curtain separating the two sections she saw that he was standing in there searching the crowd for her. Once again their eyes locked as he made his way over to her.
“My name is Adonis,” he said in English with a deep Italian accent taking her hand and bringing it to his lips.
“My name is Deianeira.” She said blushing. He had to be one of the best looking men she had ever seen.
“You travel alone my dear?” He said looking around expecting someone to speak up.
“Yes, I am on my way to America.”
“Wonderful. Where in America?”
“I am going to New York. I saved up money and I’m going there to get a job and start a life for myself.”
He looked sad briefly. “That is too bad. You see I am going to Seattle, Washington to work in my Uncle’s accounting firm. You know there is no one in the seat next to me, if you care to accompany me. If they get mad I can always settle the difference in ticket price for you.”
“I would love to.” He took her hand and led her to first class with him.
They talked she talked about her dreams of wanting to run a wedding planning service and a dating company that matched people to one another and helped them to fall in love.
Halfway through the flight he kissed her deeply. The kiss ignited a passion in them that they were not prepared for. Deianeira had made love before but she was only 18 and Alastaire was 25, he was way more experience than any of the boys she had been with back home. They snuck into the bathroom where he had his way with her. It was the single best sexual experience of her life. He taught her so much. The plane landed in New York and she talked him into staying the night there with her in her hotel room. Where they slept, made love, slept, talked some, then made love some more. She was so happy and in love she couldn’t see straight. The next morning he was getting ready to leave. “I wish I could stay, but my Uncle is expecting. I have to go.” Then he paused a moment and looked like he was thinking of something. “You know I have only known you a short time, but I think we might have something together. How about you come with me to Washington? You don’t have a job yet right? Come with me to Seattle.”
Deianeira just glowed as she thought yes, this was just what she was meant to do. The great Goddess Aphrodite has lead her heart to exactly the right place. She ran to him leaping into his arms. “Yes, yes, yes! I will go with you.” Kissing him wildly, wrapping her legs around him.
Needless to say they were detained at the hotel and scrambled to catch their flight. At the airport as she waited for Adonis outside the men’s bathroom she looked up and saw Nickolai. She tried to turn but it was too late he had saw her.
“What are you doing here?” he asked. “I thought your flight got in yesterday?”
“It did. I lost some of my luggage and came here to get it.”
“Oh alright. Well get it and let’s go.”
“What do you mean let’s go? What are you doing here?”
“I’m getting us a house here. You can live with me, that way I can still look after you and make sure you are safe, as I always promised I would.”
“Nick you promised that when we were kids. I’m not a kid anymore I can handle this.” It was the same old argument they always had time and again. It was that moment that Adonis came out of the bathroom and walked up to her placing his hand possessively on her lower back as he looked at Nickolai.
“Whose this?” Nick asked as his veins started popping in his forehead like they always did when he got mad.
“Hello sir. My name is Adonis and you are?”
“Dei you are not involved with this man are you? You only left two days ago. I went to all this trouble to come here and check on you.”
“Is this your boyfriend or something?” Adonis asked pointedly.
“No this is my very nosy older brother Nickolai. Look Nick we have to get going. Have fun in New York.”
“Nice meeting you.” Adonis called after him as Dei pulled him along. “I promise I will take good care of her.”
Take good care of her what was this asshole talking about Nick thought. No one would ever take care of her like he could and he couldn’t let this man take her away from him. His heart was breaking on the inside, but no one would have even known it. “Where are you guys going?”
“I am taking her to Seattle, Washington to live with…” but Deianeira just kept pulling him along.
“I can’t believe he followed me.”
“He seems really nice if you were my sister I’d have to say I’d be the same way. He is just looking out for you.”
“Well he needs to stop!” She yelled. “Sorry didn’t mean to yell it is just that he won’t let me do anything.”
In Seattle they stopped in at his office and Adonis showed her around and introduced her to his Uncle Antonio. She told him that she inspired to be a wedding planner and what her goals were. “I have a client that owns a wedding planning business. If you want I can put in a good word to him for you.”
“OH would you that would be great!” She was so excited at the thought that she had Adonis drive her to it right then.
The owner was a fun loving guy, who said that the wedding planner he had was about to retire and she was welcome to the job. Pierre the owner was a portly little man. He was flamboyantly gay and was a sweet man in Deianeira’s opinion. He and his partner Billy had been together for 7 years now and they were in love. Billy ran a florist a few miles from here and that was how the two met.
Finally they drove to Adonis’s condo that was right on the ocean. It was beautiful and had a lovely view. They sat outside and enjoyed the warm summer air and made love on the balcony.
A few days later Nickolai came into her place of business. “You are done playing house now with that jerk now, it’s time to come home. I have our place all ready. I even had your room decorated in red your favorite color, now let’s go.”
“I’m not going with you!”
He leaned over and whispered in her ear. “I have made some pretty lucrative connections in my short stay here and if you refuse to come with me I will have him killed. Now you don’t want that do you?”
Deianeira shivered something in Nick’s voice told her he wasn’t kidding. “Give me the address I will get my stuff and come after work.”
She cried all the way to Adonis’s place. “What is wrong my love?”
She said nothing just grabbed him and kissed him, pulling off his clothes and leading him into the bedroom. She made love to him that night knowing it would be the last time they did. When it was over she got up and started packing her things.
“What are you doing?” Nick said in a panic.
“I’m sorry this isn’t going to work. I’m moving in with my brother.” Saying good bye to him was breaking her heart, but she was afraid to ever let Nick come near him ever again. “Stop.” She said as he rose to come to her.
“I’m sorry I must move on. I am done here. It’s been great, but I really must move on. I am not ready for this kind of commitment.” And she walked out leaving him standing there befuddled.
She hailed a cab and gave the driver her Nick’s address. She said a prayer in her head to Aphrodite for Adonis to be ok and to find someone who would love him for the wonderful man he was.
He came to her job everyday and everyday she turned him away. Finally when she thought she could not do it again he stopped and left her alone. A few years later through the grapevine she learned that he was getting married and now lived in California fronting the newest branch of the accounting firm.
Deianeira had moved on as well falling in and out of love all the time. It was when she met Tanis, a young elf that was involved with Nicolai that her life had changed. They had a very secret, somewhat brief love affair. He taught her how to fight. He gave her lessons with a sword and taught her some skills. This training unlocked something within her that she couldn’t comprehend, something that felt magical. She excelled in her training in a way that surprised not only herself but her trainer. Shortly after her training Tanis was killed by a lone gunman in his own apartment. No convictions were ever made.
On her twenty second birthday she was out on the town celebrating along the waterfront. She noticed an elven woman checking her out when she was playing volleyball on the beach earlier. She smiled over at her and when the game was over she made her way over to her. Her name was Paula Matthews and she was in the police academy working to become a cop. Dei immediately liked her and they had a very heated intense love affair that ended shortly after their passion died out, but they remain friends to this day.
Deianeira continued her training something in her drew her to want to build herself up to something yet she didn’t know what. About three years after Paula she met an elf man named Miguel Lorenz who was at the gym where she was practicing. “Hey there, those are some pretty impressive moves.”
“Thanks.” She walked over to him sweating. She gave him an appreciate look as she checked him out as he had been doing to her. He simply smiled back in return.
“How about I join you and you can show me what you got.”
They went at it in the wrestling rink of the gym. Both of them getting in their fair share of wins. The last time he won he pinned her to the ground with his body. He looked down at her and kissed her senseless. They rolled around together, hands all over each other. The club was practically empty as they made their way into the locker rooms where he took her up against her locker.
He became one of her heated but short lived romances. He developed a respect for her and her skills however so they still keep in touch. She had learned how to change her personalities there was one that she had for business the nice easy going slightly flirty wedding planner and that was the personality that she let Nickolai see, then there was the one everyone else saw, her true self. The wild hang from the rafter rocking out party girl. Her last one was the independent self assured fighter that seemed to have developed. As her powers and abilities started becoming more natural and prevalent she prayed to Aphrodite thanking her for them, they were making her feel strong and independent. She knew the Goddess blessed her with these powers for a reason, she would just keep practicing until the Goddess open the door for her and showed her the way.
